As a translator and interpreter, there is nothing that satisfies me more than being able to work on projects that promote Galicia and its culture. I somewhat hope I have proved Castelao wrong, in the only sense that I hope I have conveyed the essence of his words and transformed the Galician melody into one of those \u00abforeign languages\u00bb that are slowly killing our linguistic diversity. However, I completely agree, and cannot argue against the fact, that it is thanks to our language that we still exist as Galician people. I hope that through translation we can engage those who have no idea how truly rich our culture is and how far back our history goes. For the more interest we create the more apparent our differences become, therefore, the more we can establish our identity as Galicians.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abNing\u00fan idioma alleo, por ilustre que sexa, poder\u00e1 expresar en nome do noso os \u00edntimos sentimentos, as fondas dores e as perdurables esperanzas do pobo galego; se a\u00ednda somos diferentes e capaces de existir, non \u00e9 m\u00e1is que por obra e gracia do idioma\u00bb <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Castelao (1886-1950)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Moitas persoas pasan toda a s\u00faa vida na procura do seu prop\u00f3sito, con todo cheguei a comprender que non \u00e9 algo que se persegue; \u00e9 algo ou varias cousas que xa est\u00e1n dentro dun, esperando a que te\u00f1amos a coraxe de cumprilas. Como tradutora e int\u00e9rprete, non hai nada que me agrade m\u00e1is que poder traballar en proxectos que promovan Galicia e a s\u00faa cultura. Dalgunha maneira espero que demostrase que Castelao se equivocaba, no \u00fanico senso de que espero que transmitise a esencia das s\u00faas palabras e convertese a melod\u00eda galega nunha desas \u201clinguas alleas\u201d que lentamente est\u00e1n a matar a nosa diversidade ling\u00fc\u00edstica. Por\u00e9n, estou completamente dacordo con el, e non se lle pode discutir, de que grazas ao idioma seguimos existindo como pobo galego. Agardo a trav\u00e9s da traduci\u00f3n poder involucrar a aqueles que non te\u00f1en idea do rica que \u00e9 a nosa cultura e a nosa historia, creando neles, a trav\u00e9s de proxectos como este, curiosidade polo noso.
